Tell us about you:

I am a mother of four children and wife of thirteen years, I like to write short stories and poetry, I am currently working on my first novel. I love to paint with acrylics and have a love for all varieties of music. I am a child at heart and try not to let life get me down. My friends would say I am a caring, friendly, easy going, down to earth kind of girl. I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario but those who know me know that I am much more of a Northern gal. I love animals and we currently have two dogs, two cats and nine laying chickens.

What is your favourite genre; why?

I like Sci-fiction but it’s not unusual to see me reading self-help books, spiritual books and metaphysical books

Who is your favourite author; why?

In my teens I used to love V.C. Andrews and Anne Rice, my current favourite authors are Neale Donald Walsh, Mary Roberts Rinehart (my current reading material although it is dated way before my birth).

Tell us how or why the world can become a better place because of your writing:

I can only write from my heart and  that any lessons I have learned in my life will come out in my writing to benefit my readers so as  to make their life that much easier.

If you have been published, tell us where, when and by whom. If you have not been published, tell us about your writing goals:

I had a poem published by The Poetry Guild in 1998; it was featured in a book called “Moments in the Garden”. My poem was called “One” and I wrote it based on the love I had for my soon to be husband!

When/ how did your love for creative writing begin?

The spark that ignited my desire to write came about when my best friend showed me some hand written poetry by her dearly departed grandmother. When I read her poetry the desire to write over took me and I wrote non-stop until I became a mother.
Now that my children are bigger I have been able to dive into my writing again and it feels good!

If someone chooses to sponsor you, what can you give that sponsor in return?

If you choose to sponsor me I would love to offer you a personal poem written just for you or a loved one and any updates on my current writing projects.

What do you do other than creative writing – what do you enjoy doing?

I love to paint with acrylics and I am experimenting with different surfaces on which to paint. I am currently painting on circular saw blades which are dull, rusty and of no use; I can restore them and paint country scenery on them.

The sponsorship is a minimal fee of $25.00 per month. It is not a big number in today’s economy – and yet, perhaps it is! How will this sponsorship assist you – or – how will this sponsorship money assist your community?

If you choose to sponsor me your money will go to further my writing career while also helping to pay the bills. Just think, I could be the next J.K Rowling because of your donations!

Are you a volunteer in your community? If not, what things do you do to make your community a better place?

I am a mother of four trying my best to raise good citizens for society and hopefully a future N.H.L player. My youngest will be starting school next year and I would like to volunteer my time there as I have done in the past for my other three children.

If the sponsor had a special occasion coming up and wanted a signed, framed, handwritten poem from you to give as a gift, how much would you charge?

My sponsors would receive free, personal, signed, and framed poems!

If the sponsor lives in another Province, how would you show the beauty of where you live?

If I were to show the beauty of where I live in my writing I would use sensory details to describe my environment. I find that any writing comes alive when we use our senses to describe anything like food, sounds, feelings etc.

Give us an example of your writing:

Sun warm
On my face
Coffee hot
Steaming
Aroma, so divine

Bird chirping
Outside
My window pane

What do I want out of Life?

Clock
Tick, tick, ticking…
Water Pump
Clicking
On
Off
Laundry
Swish, swish, swishing…

What does Happiness look like?

Television
On
Dog
Barking
Sun
Blinding

What’s my wish for 2009?
