the latest news:

-- Wynterblue Author's Reception: Suzanne Brooks from Gulliver's Book Store has offered one month of feature shelf space to all Wynterblue authors. A reception for all Wynterblue authors will be held on February 20 from 1 to 3pm. This is a Black Tie Affair with media in attendance. Books to be displayed will be juried by Wynterblue before being approved for display. Please send one copy of your book with a stamped, self-addressed envelope and your contact information to the Wynterblue address on the Contact Us page, no later than January 31. You do not have to be a Wynterblue member in order to attend or to have your book promoted - you just have to be an author that has had a book or a work published through Wynterblue (including Wyn Lit). All featured books will be sold through Gulliver's and standard commission fees will apply. If you have any questions, please Contact Us. Please RSVP if you are able to attend.

-- Please check out the updated announcement about the Wynterblue Weekend. The big hope is to make this workshop an affordable, bi-annual get-together for all Wynterblue Authors across Canada. The date of the workshop has been changed to May due to the feedback about nasty, winter weather during February. We need your feedback about attendance in order to make this event a success! Please Contact Us if you are interested in attending this workshop so that we can get things organized. We need to hear from you by January 31.

-- The Wyn Lit 24 dates for January have been posted at the left. There will be updated announcements and answers to some of your questions posted on the 24 page on January 9th. Again, I would like to thank every single one of you for your ongoing support during the past few months.

--  Wynterblue Online Workshops are back on track! Please Contact Us for more information.

--  The "Wyn Lit Online" and "All Things 73" pages are in the process of being updated. Thank you for your patience.

--  Many of you have books for sale. A page on the Wynterblue website is available to you in order to assist you as much as possible in the sale of your book. We don't want a cut of the action and there is no fee to have the page. You must have your own PayPal account in order to sell your book through the webpage and you will be 100% responsible for the delivery of the books you sell.  Please Contact Us for more info. Together, we can make 2010 a successful year for you!

-- We welcome your short reading recorded on YouTube. Send us the link so that we can post it on our home page the same way Sharmagne posted Tiny Warrior below. Be sure to keep it short!

-- The Sponsor-a-Word page is waiting for some new words from you!

UPDATED INFO . . .

From the Magpie’s Desk:

A Wynterblue Weekend
We are hoping to arrange our first 3-day writing seminar/workshop with a full banquet evening and awards some time in
MAY 2010.

We need feedback from you in order to go ahead and start planning this event. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP via the Contact Us page. We are looking for 50 participants, minimum, in order to begin setting up the programs.

a.       The plan is as follows: we will organize the event at a local motel and will arrange for discounted rooms. The entry fee will be somewhere between $150 - $200 and will include the banquet supper, the workshops and seminars - and a few other things! (We welcome arrangements to pay for the entry fee in instalments.) A breakdown of the entry fee will be available for those of you that do not wish to attend the banquet or wish to attend only specific workshops. Save $20.00 if you are a Wynterblue Member.

b.    Your rooms will not be included with the entry fee and we encourage you to bunk up with your fellow authors in order to lessen the cost of the overnight stay. We will get the best rate possible.

c.       The workshops will be hands-on and will cover many different topics. The workshops will begin early Saturday morning.

d.       The weekend will begin Friday evening and end on Sunday evening after the banquet dinner. The exact date will be announced as soon as we have a minimum of 50 authors interested in attending. We will have a draw at the end of the event and the winner will receive his/her entry fee back!

e.       All authors are invited to bring their books to sell during the event. Please feel free to forward this announcement to your fellow writers and I look forward to your feedback so that I can begin organizing -- and so that you can start to reserve your rooms for this event in beautiful North Bay!
