Introducing:

2four ink is a small literary
magazine designed to give
all participating Wyn Lit 24 authors one more publishing venue.
It will be launched during the
NOPC launch
in North Bay on September 11, 2010
All past, present and future 24 submissions
are eligible to be published in this magazine.
The magazine is available by subscription only.
2four ink
Submission Guidelines:
-
All 1500 word short stories written during the
Wyn Lit 24 are eligible.
(Stories that contain more than 1500 words will not be
considered.)
-
The editor of the magazine decides which stories
will be included. This decision is separate from any and all
judges' decisions regarding the Wyn Lit 24 Short List. In other
words, you do not have to make the 24 Short List in order to be
considered for inclusion in the magazine. By entering the 24,
you are simply submitting your short story the same way as
usual, but in doing so, you get a second chance to get published
in a format other than Confab.
-
The publication is bi-monthly.
Your one year subscription includes:
6 issues of
2four ink
+ 1 supplement issue + 1 Wynterblue yearly calendar
-
Authors are paid and receive a complimentary
copy of the issue which contains their work. Payment is
currently set at $10 per published story - but it is our hope
that as the subscription base grows, so will the payment to our
authors. A printable subscription form is available
here.
-
One dollar from every subscription will go to
each of the following grant funds.
Thank you for your donation to these grant funds
through your
subscription to
2four ink!
The candle burns . . .
The purpose of these grants is to provide modest financial
support to a writer
whose ability to continue writing will be enhanced by such support.
Gail Gernat Writer's Grant
Gail is inspired by the north’s beauty, its people and its
unique voice.
Unfortunately, Gail has been stricken with terminal cancer.
Yet, in spite of this devastating event, Gail continues to write
creatively,
entertaining us with her written words,
and encouraging the rest of us to do all we can to make our dreams a
reality.
This grant is available to Northern ON writers only.
Garfield McAdam Writer’s Grant
Like many authors, Garfield’s writing career began in his
later years.
His life’s lessons, joys and pains are reflected in a fictitious
voice that inspires
all senior authors to pick up the ink and just do it - write.
This grant is available to all Canadian authors ages 50 and
up only.
Wynterblue Candle Writer's Grant
This grant is available to all Canadian
authors who are not eligible
to receive either of the above grants.

“I Think I’m With The Right Person”
Stories of despair, mistrust and passion
Chapbook
Publishing in February 2011
Edited by Kyle Fowle & Brett Greene
I THINK I’M WITH THE RIGHT PERSON is a collection of stories
detailing love gone awry, of unrequited lust, of bad luck and
worse behaviour which is set for publication in February 2011 —
just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Short fiction and non-fiction prose, poetry, essays, dramatic
work, doodles & other strange musings will be considered for
publication. The only criterion is excellence; any style or subject
matter is welcome, so send us your hard boiled detective stories,
your romantic trysts, your comedic prose…
anything that fits the theme!
SUBMISSION CRITERA
This Call for Submissions is open to all Ontario authors; students
are especially encouraged to submit work. The editors ask that no
more than two (2) pieces be entered for consideration and that
pieces be no longer than 10 pages or 2500 words apiece.
Remember: we’re interested in reading all forms and genres!
All work must be sent electronically as an attached MSWord .doc or
.rtf file to the e-mail address below.
Please use the Subject line, “I Think I’m With The Right Person”.
Along with your chosen works,
please submit your full name, contact details and a brief biography
of no
more than 200 words no later than SEPTEMBER 30, 2010.
Proceeds from the sale of I THINK I’M WITH THE RIGHT PERSON benefits
the Ontario Literacy Coalition.

JUDGES' PICK
for opening paragraph:
"The house groaned behind me. I jumped, whipping around; my
heart in my throat. I dunno what I expected to see. Maybe that
deathless visage, the one with the scythe? Felt like the kind of
night Death might ride, looking for victims. I watch way too
many scary movies."
